ZF 8HP service kit

Can anyone tell me, is there anywhere near West Essex that I can go and physically pick up a service kit for the ZF HP8?

So many people offer the HP6 fluid as "the right one" I don't want to trust the net.

EDIT; OR has anyone used Island 4X4 and are they "A OK"?

Having said that Does anyone recommend an on line dealer?

Advanced factors who sponsor this forum ADVLRF will give you a discount and they do the specific kits per vehicle easy website to navigate and they get stuff to you very quickly, I have used Island in the past but prefer Advanced.

Bit of an update. I found HP8 fluid on line £18.25L incl vat. So I thought I'd do a straight fluid change for now. Planning on doing two drain and refills with a short drive in between to turn the fluid over a bit.

1st change went well. I checked the level with the car on level ground before draining and it was good. I drained down from the sump and measured the fluid out at 3.3L I allowed the fluid to cool a bit before measuring so as to be similar in temperature to the in going fluid.

Having adapted a Garden sprayer into a fluid pump I was able to get just 2L back in before it was dripping out so started up the disco, went through the gears and left it running which allowed me to pump in the balance of 1.3L.

At this point my plan is to close up, go for a short drive and then go again. The disco drove better after just the first transfer, smoother initial uptake and changing from forward to reverse and back. Great! I'm on a roll.

Re positioned the Disco for the next drain down and I've gone and over tightened the drain plug and it won't undo as I've broken the fail safe (or, idiot test) and the key just spins in the socket now. Aghghghghg Big Cry

So for now the plan has changed to driving as is until I get the new drain plug, then finding a way of removing it without damaging the sump. Although I may just go the full hog and swap out the sump now as the fluid was rank! 94K with off road and towing in the history has taken it's toll.

Pleased with how it's driving already though, well worth doing.

Next jobs

Turbo drain (although there's been no smoke screen since the oil change 500 miles ago)

Compressor (either fix or replace, Not sure yet)
