There is one in my Jag also. Its a humidity sensor to trigger demist I think.

As Gareth says it's the humidity sensor and it isn't fixed to the screen, well the bracket is but you can move the sensor about

thats interesting. I will be plumbing my road angel up there on the other side when i get my new one. Previously I've run a switched live from a fuse doubler up the A pillar trim and behind the head lining. Is that red cable a switched live do we think? could prove handy MY06 S - Gone but not forgotten
