FBH inoperative, tests done and unresolved, help needed.

Hi all.

My D4 2013 HSE Lux FBH will not function from the set up screen in the car, either as a single event, or day/time pre-set.

The unit does run on cold start as normal when external temp is low suggesting the external temp sensor is functioning ok.

Tests done: Removed fuse 28 - ignition off (Not sure what that achieves?).
Removed fuse 5 - ignition on to attempt reset.
Removed and replaced input plug, inspected and replaced to as far as possible ensure good
connections.
I have a basic knowledge of elec/mech but I'm not what you would call technically proficient with electronics, etc.

Does this suggest a control unit is malfunctioning?
What other thests can I do? (Only have a basic multi-meter)
Is it MD Job?

Any help or pointers greatly appreciated.

Thank you in anticipation, regards, Charles.
Its all in the grip of the Tyre Fitters hand!
