Hi,
My disco 05 TDV6 is now out of warranty and I need to have the gearbox oil flushed. I got a quote from Gearbox centre midrand for R3500.00 excl vat for a double flush.
According to Landrover Polokwane my car is due for its 120000km service (No 10 in the book as I only have 103000km on my car  ) and that also includes a gearbox and diff oil replacement - total cost including service R6500.00 (They however only charge me 2x gearbox oil @R630 and 2x Diff oil @R821 - this seem very cheap )
Does this seem correct?
Do Land Rover only top up the oil or do they drain and refill - no "flush"?
I'm on my way to gearbox centre tomorrow so I need to make a decision sometime today.

Sean does pretty good work , so no problem using him . I doubt LR is doing a flush at the prices quoted , mine was done under warranty and the gearbox alone was R9000

Just to update. I did have my gearbox flushed by The Gearbox Company in Midrand and I'm very happy with the results. 11 Disco 4 SDV6 HSE

Did they do the double flush? And what was the cost of the exercise?

Yes it was a dubble flush. The drained the oil, filled, drove for about 5km's, drained the oil again then replaced the sump/filter and refill with oil. R3500 excl vat.
They also replaced the transfercase oil for R300 excl vat.
Very happy with the results - no more juddering and very smooth gear changes! 11 Disco 4 SDV6 HSE

Mine had the treatment etc done under extended MP (some time ago) and now it is at Centurion LR .... 700km left before Motorite expire and they have asked for a NEW GEARBOX  Motorite haven't said yes yet 
I am not sure on 115 325 km if this good  I know if I get a new one I should be

I just said jerky changes ...
The software and oil thing has been done - a while back -
I think they are asking not sure if we will get - I am off for a week to Seychelles so not really time to get all the info... when I am back I should know what happened and why

What happened, did they change the gearbox....
Mine is on 96,000 and I need to do oil change and filter - I tow the Xplorer too, so changes will be more frequent.
