We bought this car in April 2022 after missing our last Discovery 3. It was meant as a brief stop gap whilst we found the right Discovery 4, but we loved it and have kept it a little longer. In that time we’ve done 20,000 great miles, taking it on several holiday jaunts - France, up through the Yorkshire Dales, and across into Cambridgeshire.
It has been great, however, we have now collected our new D4, so this is for sale.
It has all the usual HSE refinements such as– HK Audio with in dash 6 disc CD changer, Dual Zone Climate with working Air Conditioning, Triple Sunroof, Heated front and outer middle row seats, Cruise Control, Electric front seats, front and rear parking sensors, 7 seats, heated front and rear screen, Sat Nav with 4x4 Display, etc
We purchased this as a used car from Tim Fry Land Rover in Cheltenham in April 2022, who did their usual extensive preparation regime. I have a full list of the work they performed.
Since then I have had the vehicle looked after by New Barn Cars Land Rover Specialist in Cheltenham. Key things I’ve had done in addition to servicing:
- Gearbox flush & Belts (front and rear, with oil pump) done April 2022 @ 156k as part of Tim Fry Prep
- EGR Blanked Off (Nov 2022)
- 4x Michelin Cross Climate 2 Tyres (Nov 2022 @ 163592)
- Front + Rear Differential & Transfer Box oils replaced (Jan 2023 @ 165298)
- Both keys new batteries and reshelled

The bits to be honest about – many of which are typical of Discovery 3’s of this age:
- It’s an 18 year old working vehicle. It has knocks/marks/scratches inside and out.
- The seats have lost some of their colouring.
- There has historically been a sunroof drain leak. I’ve had that fixed, but both the A Pilar fabrics are a little loose. As a result. Sunroof still works perfectly.
- The lower Glove box handle has partially broken – but is still functional.
- Fridge seems to be temperamental. It comes on, but doesn’t always seem to chill.
- Rear AC has been disconnected by a previous owner
- Lacquer Peel on the roof between first and second sunroof
All in all, it’s a vehicle we’ve enjoyed having and for prompt sale at a low price
