NHS doctors surgery no masks
Hi all
Am after a favour.
My wife works in a doctors surgery in Hythe Kent which is currently trying to stay open. However despite what the government are saying and what is in the press they cannot get masks.
They are down to their last few and may have to shut or work without masks if they can’t get any.
Does anyone have any contacts or know any suppliers who have some that they can buy please.
If you do please let me know and I can supply the practice managers email address via PM
Thanks in advanceMY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange

Ditto here. Wife is a GP and they have been given no PPE at all. They have a few paper surgical masks and plastic aprons in a cupboard. That's all. No visors or fitted masks or a decent supply of gloves. To say they are worried and feel like lambs to the slaughter is putting it mildly.D1 300Tdi - gone

We joined a scheme at work and are 3D printing faceshield headbands, and are also laser cutting the shield itself.
I think we ran out all our stock of Filament and sent them all off today, but will check in the morning.

“We” have the same issue here in The Netherlands...
BUT... I do not really understand why...
Short explanation... I have a business... we do import, and let produce goods from all over the world..
We also have a agent in China... female... she was worried (and right) that we do not wear masks in public in Europe... She did read that in the China news... so she sent me a few bags of masks.. made bij 3M FFP2 coded, AND made in... Russia.. so we can wear them if we go out...
By DHL Express, by plane that is..they arrived within 3 days... if I wanted more, they could supply 2000 of them instantly
Although not very cheap , expect to pay $4,5 for one piece/mask. and express by airplane is also not cheap. BUT hey are available! And I know for sure the can arrange more..if needed..
The part I do no understand is.... if we can get them in 3 days, why can governments and hospitals Not get them?
I can supply the email adress of this agent,( I myself do not want to trade in masks or be in between any trade in this case..) to the buying or as you call it practice manager....but only to them.... Pm me for my e-mail adress.. to give it to that practice manager, they can give me their details and I can forward those contact details and they together can sort it out...
We do business with them for 6 years now.. very thrust worthy and honorable people...
Again, I do not want in between anything in this case, but in the end my trading agents are important for my business and therefore confidentialBest regards
Harold

I think it’s every country for themselves, guy next to us at work, his supplier had a container load bought and paid for, they were last seen travelling across Belgium, two weeks ago, the Belgian authorities got wind of them and impounded the container, I’ve seen reports of two two trucks heading across France bound for the UK, again French authorities got wind of them and commandeered both trucks, similar story of a consignment travelling Germany heading for Austria.
The EU have been strangely silent in all this.

What goes around comes around, the French had a load of PPE gazzumped on the runway in China by our friends across The Pond.
Economy version .... sorry, instructions only in Spanish.
