It's hardly an unholy mess is it?
The NHS, for instance, has less than 5% of its workforce from the EU27.
A much bigger proportion are from non-EU.
If the EU restrictions genuinely make it difficult for staffing the NHS, maybe we should loosen restrictions a bit on the 94% of the population that isn't the EU27...especially those where English is more/better spoken?
For farm agricultural workers we had the seasonal agricultural workers scheme (SAWS), which was only removed 3 years ago when restrctions on immigrants from Romania and Bulgaria ended.
The SAWS wasn't extended to non-EEA countries specifically because of unemployment in the UK and unrestricted movement of A2 citizens. Given we have lower unemployment now and restrictions on EU27 likely to come in, SAWS may well make sense once again.Black 05 TDV6 HSE Auto

Definitely time to panic:
Quote:
McVitie’s Digestives will be reducing the size of their biscuit packets by 100g following demanding post-Brexit costs.
The packet size will be decreased from 500g to 400g, effectively losing seven biscuits out of the usual 34.
Not sure I believe that Brexit is totally to blame, I do some importing and my costs have not gone up anywhere near enough to warrant a 20% price increase.==================================

Keep hearing "oh wait till we've left and then you'll see" but signs not yet showing that 'end-of-the-world' view
Sorry didn't realise that everything is hunky dory. Govt in stasis over negotiations with EU, farmers, health service, construction all wondering what to do about future labour requirements. This before we even know what financial consequences are going to be for the country and our world leading financial sector.
Oh did I forget the population still split over in or out.
One of us needs to watch the news or read a quality newspaper a bit more and it ain't me.
Didn’t say all was hunky dory but then also not EVERYTHING is due to Brexit like it is, seemingly, claimed.
EVERY vote creates a ‘split’ doesn’t it
Please advise which news or quality paper will impart me with impartial and unbiased news as most on here are slagged off one way or another.
I know I’ll just decide for me by me what my opinion is just like those who voted (for AND against) did and had their vote to reflect that opinion.....
