Have ordered the mount from Ray Thumbs Up

Where can I get the aerial base and cable that needs to fit into Ray's bracket then?

I'm just using a trucker 80 aerial which I think is a 'standard' screw fitting.

Do I just remove the one that's currently in the magmount?

Here for mine

Just measure where you are gonna put it and he will make you a ariel lead like mine, I think mine was 3mtr. Remember to ask for a 90degree ariel mount though.

Here's the ariel cable end

So if you are gonna use RLD's bracket, then you need this cable as the space is limited between roof/glass to the bracket.

Hope that helps Thumbs Up

Mount arrived today, many thanks RLD Thumbs Up

MacLeod where have you put your cable, did you drill a whole under the roof rails, or do you feed it around the tail gate and go in through the light cluster?

Thanks

the moulded piece of trim at the end of the roof rails cut a nick in it, big enough for the cable so it runs flush in the rails, under the trim, down the the upper rear door and through the grommet behind light. Cable routing in my gallery, if you need a pic of cable under trim I can

Right, when the original pic below was taken I did'nt have my Expo fitted

The cable ran through the rail, and I cut a notch to keep the cable running through and under the trim to the other side, like this

Then down this way

Through Here

If you have a Expo / frontrunner rack, then do it this way, my current way

Hope that helps you sir Thumbs Up

Forgot to add, Notch out the rear light plastic (optional), cable runs better and stops chaffing.

Doing it this way enables no damage, and parts fit well, and after that the cable is then inside the rear N/S cubby where towing electrics are.

Remember though, when the cable goes through the grommit at the back, its double skin, and theres an identical grommit inside the cubby box too.

From there on in, the cable routing is ALL under door trims to the middle passenger piller, and under passender seat (cable tied up), away from electric seats and runners to the middle arm rest on mine

Thumbs Up

Many Thanks, looks like I need to take the end 'plug' of the cable, as my cable already had the plug on the end.

If I remove it are they easy enough to re-solder on? Thumbs Up
