Changing side light bulb

Hi,

A simpe task you would think, but all I want to do is change a front side light bulb!

Having wrestled with removing the front grill - I don't know how strong those plastic clips are that hold it in place, I am then confronted with moving the locking bars up. Looking from the front of the car, I need to remove the left hand light unit completely to change the side light bulb. The handbook indicates to use a screwdriver to lever up the locking bars. I eventually managed to do this to the one on the right, but as for the left side locking bar by the wing, I cannot get enough leverage to shift the bar.

I have given up for now, but smeared Vaseline on the plastic clips before putting the grill back - hopefully that should make it a bit easier to remove it next time.

Does anyone have any tips on how to more easily lift the locking bars or, for that matter, generally gaining access to change bulbs.

Thanks, Rob

Spray some wd40 down them to start with, then pull them up with a piece of cord wrapped round the lug at top, you did the right thing greasing them to make it easier next time. They are bl**dy stiff first time off,but mine shifted easily like this after over a year in place. and I wouldn't lever with anything near all that expensive plastic. Put vaseline or something on the sliders as well before re fitting. Wink

On the subject of lights, I keep finding my n/side head lamp assembly misted up. Is this a common problem and should it be changed?

There's a TSB covering that, take it to your dealer and they'll asses whether it needs replacing or not according the the TSB details
