Dashboard lights too dim?
Anybody else wish the tach and speedo gauges where a bit brighter at night? I'm sure that in the middle of the Sahara desert or dark forest, that the meager amount of illumination is plenty. But in Southern California with over a million streetlights, buildings, and so forth, the surrounding light pollution makes the dash very difficult to read.
I have not explored the nether parts of my dashboard yet, but I wonder if those lamps behind the gauges can be upgraded to something bit brighter.
Anyone tried this yet?
Regards,
NW

If anything, I dim mine down most of the time! I find them too bright. Maybe you have a faulty rheostat?

Mine are OK too - maybe its just the American Night Time Glow thats the problem?Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)
I've got mine cranked all the way down, they are way to bright otherwise. If it is that bad, sounds safety related, get 'er checked out.

I'm at about 50% brightness personally... no problem.

You may have a fault - I had to have the sensor changed behind the dash as it had a mind of it's own and would set levels at some random brightness that no amount of messing with the rheostat would fix.
Sometimes too bright 8) , sometimes so dark you'd think it was off.
Fixed now and like grommet, about half way is fine.D3 HSE V8...

Doesn't everyone in Southern California drive around with their Shades on all the time?
