Hi hzwart, back in the loop.
My installation is not done yet, waiting for a fuel pipe i've ordered ex UK.
I've gone with the 120B, depending where you have the space a 445 is
the next step. If you looked in my pic's, you would have seen the STD
setup for a post 07 D3.Thus my new filter would fit in the old pre 07 filter's
place. Sticking with the 120 B, you could get two of them in, "TIGHT" but
possible. The 445 would be too fat to fit two of, if you have the pre 07 you
may have a look in the engine bay, L.H.S, in front of the battery. A word of
warning Whistle there are 4 pipes linked to the filter systems. My plan is
to steer clear of this trouble spot, trace the supply line between the tank
and filter and plumb in the new one.

Hi Discoeast

I have taken some photos of the filter attached to the diesel pump. They are in my gallery. I will now take a photo of the unit that was removed. Remember that the unit I have removed has been cleaned already Censored

I will also make a modification to the main diesel filter. I have obtained two Racor units filtering at 2 micro's and will then proceed with the installation. Thumbs Up

Hi hzwart,
Seeing that you are going for 2 x extra filter units, perhaps fit
a 10 micron filter cartridge in the first one as a pre filter. Using two of the
same grade of cartridges would be defeating the object of the mod IMHO.
With that in mind, if the tank filter did block again Big Cry Rip the condom
off the pump and let the Racor do the job Mr. Green
Still waiting for my pipe to start the conversion. And take some pic's
please.

Cheers.

Hi Discoeast

I intent to change the exsiting main diesel filter to a pre-filter to filter at 30 micron. The two Racor 2 micron filters will operate in parallel to ensure pressure drop is limited thereby getting close to 0.5 bar to the high pressure pump. Thumbs Up

The reason the two Racor filters is operating in parallel is to reduce the flow rate though the filter therby increasing water removal in the diesel. With the capactiry of filters (I hope to be able to install) Whistle , I should be able to run with these filters far longer and with a higher reliability than the current system in SA with the poluted fuel. Rolling with laughter
