Mine gets tomorrow new transfer box fluids. Thumbs Up

Auxiliary belts will be replaced soon as will spark plugs. T piece just arrived as did the front differential breather upgrade. That’s just the “mandatory” list. Whistle

Since you have a nice V8, too - any opinions on BG 44K have you used it yourself, feel that it is mostly placebo or not aware of its existence? Thumbs Up

Had to Google that.

I put an petrol cleaner through the tank (2 treatments) and cleaned the throttle body and haven't done any more. Now added about 3500miles and still silky smooth however thinking I might give the TB an quick clean.

Fitted my fbh controller ( bas ) while I had a moment I thought I’d put it on the ramp and check the rear pads as when your foot is just resting gently on the pedal there’s a intermittent rubbing noise coming from the o/s. Could see there was plenty of pad depth but thought there might be something rubbing on back of pads or something caught up in there. Turns out the disc has a big crack about quarter of the inside perimeter. Couldn’t notice it until I pulled the disc off wich then came apparent the hadbake shoes was fubar’d on the same side. So new rear discs pads and shoes ordered and going on tomorrow.

Seriously!! I have spent more money on the disco in the past 6 months, wich I must add I hardly drive (wife’s car) than I have spent on my own car that always goes to a main dealer for everything and I’ve owned for nearly 4 years.

Bonnet catches are on my list of things to do, too. The one with alarm sensor is disconnected with wires shorted so the alarm thinks it is closed all the time. I think the bonnet has been slammed down as the catches seem to have difficulty in catching and locking it down. Noticed it by accident when I was driving ~ 100 km/h and the left front started catching wind and vibrating.... Mr. Green closing the bonnet gently and pushing down locks it properly. Thumbs Up

Also need to replace upper tailgate gas struts, they’re quite lazy to push the gate open. Any difference between the various strut makers besides price? Whistle

I found a LR bulletin which recommended use of BG 44K to treat some issues with engines. The number and the URL are mentioned in another post by me on the My Discovery D3 forum. I added it as preventive maintenance if nothing else Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Arghh now I see.

Well booked mine for an MOT with LR on Saturday morning. LR suggested running a cleaner through to help with the emissions test. It was only £30 so fine.

Asked me if it needed anything doing, like brakes. Whistle

brought my beloved MY2011 Discovery to change the camshafts belts and change the hydraulic lifters (one tappet is noisy when oil is hot, warranty work, extended warranty official LR used car). And brake pads renew....

Replaced faulty front near side height sensor, front near side wheel bearing and hub. Two new front tyres. If it ever stops raining I will clean it outside and in before the hols next week. Need to clean the brakes before the winter sets in!

Changed the front diff.
Front mounting bolt was a bit of a nightmare but manged without resorting to a grinder.
A friend's 4 post lift was quite handy as well.

Cleaned off a huge accumulation of dead insects after a long run down from the north of Scotland last weekend. Left this one as it was still alive. Very Happy

MOT undertaken at Hunters Landrover. Funnies for today.

"Have you parked out the front Sir"

"Yes you cant miss it, it's the oldest one out there"

"I cant find anything wrong with this car. It's better than some of vehicles we have on the sales fleet"
