Drivers Door wont lock

Hello,
I have had a relatively trouble free period of ownership for 10 months until today.
Pressed the lock button and something with the deadlocks didnt sound right. So I checked the doors ,all but the drivers was locked.I tried opening the passenger door and clicking on the lock button and then closing ,that didnt work.

So went to find spare keys ,that wasnt the answer. So next I started the engine ,shut off and hey the door locked.
BUT I am sure all is not well
Can anyone please advise on this and is there a way to manually lock the doors ?
SE 57
Regards

Dave

Door latch failure is very common. Needs replacing if it is the fault.
