First service
Well that time has come as it does for all of us here, and my first service is due. Now I'm not hard up but nor am I a total head.
There is no way on earth them at LR are charging me £450 to change the oil and filter and check the anti corrosion properties of my D3. Now I have a local motor repairers who are just gagging to do me a favour due to the work I send them. They are competant but are not LR approved, they would use LR parts etc. Is there anyone who can tell me what work is carried out at the first service so that I can get my local guy to quote me. What about sorting the message on the info centre? Can it be reset?
I understand that all servicing, if carried out to LR spec can be done by any garage as long as LR parts are used, and this won't affect my warrenty. All advice much appreciated as ever.

I wouldn't ...First service at a dealer will cost you £275 if you ask 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Lakeland LR was £245 all in for the first service .I got my local dealer to price match.
They did this no problem G4 Gone ...but not forgotten
So are Beadles in Sidcup... if you tell them the Harwoods price
What did Lookers quote?"Funny, mine doesn't do that......."

FLO's booked in at Beadles in the next few weeks if you want to wait for an update... If not speak to Rob in service and mention disco3.co.uk...
Harwoods were good with my D2 and I know Stu is happy enough to go to them... Weird thing is any work is normally around the time of a Fairmile meet - "Funny, mine doesn't do that......."

I called Lookers for a service price........and subsequently booked in at Beadles in Sidcup.
Beadles were excellent.Finally got one......Silver HSE.

Shop around, MacRae & Dick in Inverness has quoted me £233.52, it is going in Friday.
I had been quoted as much as £389 in Aberdeenshire. I could not get any of the dealerships to price match MacRae & Dick.
So a nice day out planned in Inverness on Friday. What I am saving on the service I am sure SWMBO will spend in the shops.

Well I've just booked it into Lookers at Hadleigh for Tuesday next week.
I asked this time how much it was going to cost and they asked if I'd had any quotes. I told them the quotes as per this thread and they're doing it for £290 all in.
Result!

First service for a D3 is £236.63 at J V Likes and you can do this
