I was just posting a "cooper tyres" post in Maintenance & Mods with this info in it, so either you are psychic or I am paranoid....
Yes, I had a small bit of plastic that got rubbed away in the front of the rear wheel well, but this was only because I managed to bottom out the vehicle so often. We were loaded to the gills, especially at the rear.
I will try take a pic if you like, but if you have a look at the rear wheel well, about half way up the front side, there is a squarish bit of plastic that sticks out towards the tyre. behind this plastic is a metal seam. On mine, the metal seam is now exposed, which might worry you if you live in a very wet country, but I will just paint it with a bit of underbody rubber paint and it will be OK. Our climate is very dry, and rust is never an issue.

I may have another solution to the clips coming off in the sun. I have found that the rears (tailgate) stay in place perfectly well with just one clip stuck to the glass near the middle, and the two shades fastened together in the middle using a couple of tie wraps.

A tiny spot of superglue on the pad did the trick for me (as long as i never remove them..)
Did you remove the spongy pad first?TDV6 SE auto, Java / Alpacca

nope, I was in cornwall on holiday, so just got some el cheapo superglue from the shop where I bought the bucket and spades, small drop on the sponge that had come off, stuck it on the glass and it's survived the heat for the last two weeks with no probs.

I glued the spongey pad to the trim. That way you can still pull the clip off if required (just leaving the pad behind).
One of my back ones fell off during the really hot weather last week, but I just stuck it back up (no glue, just pushed back into place) and its been ok since.Disco 5 HSE Lux

Guess that's what I've done as well, as I didn't remove the sponge before gluing it.

Only had a quick peek at the shades, but they look good. Am I right in thinking that the "port" windows do not require clips?

Thanks thought so, I'll have a go at fitting them soon.
Slightly concerned about possible decrease in rear visibility when reversing, is it an issue?

Not that I've noticed, visibilty is as good as if you had proper tints. Sometimes a rear passenger may comment that the pattern makes their eyes go a bit funny and they may eventually fell a bit sick. So if carrying rear bods, consider popping the rear door units out beforehand.21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021
