Fitted Sunshades
Hi All,
Im new to DISCO3 and joined after reading some very nice things people have posted about the Disco sunshades my company makes. I work for a company called O E Sunshades and have sold some Discovery 3 sets to some of the users of this forum and have had very possitive feedback, I just wondered if you could spend five minutes looking at our site and let me know what you think. Feedback about tinting quality , fitting , the look and the price would be great.
Or if you have bought a set could you please let me know how your getting on.
Many thanks for all your timeJohnathon Taylor

Welcome Johnathon,
Is that your car on the website and ebay? Looks good, is that leather? V8, what a rarity. Going to do about 1500 miles around southewest England in the summer so her indoors tells me she's just bought some from you. Mind you England and sun would be a strange combination! As stated we'll leave feedback on here as well. Looking forward to receiving them. All the best.D3 gone for now

Can't comment on the quality of the product as I have no vehicle to fit them to but just tolet you know there are a few 'typing errors' on the Discovery pageSteve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

I'm sure the product is great, however on your website the "JAVAscript" images don't stay open when using Firefox or IE. Some say the glass is half full. Others that it is half empty. I say 'Are you drinking that?"

Sunshades arrived quickly but damaged in transit. One call resulted in replacements being sent out and arrived within 24hrs. Fitted in 45 minutes (30 minutes waiting time for fixings to set). They look fantastic and will assist in keeping the heat down in the summer. Super product, excellent quality. I would have gladly paid hundreds of pounds for these for my Disco1 (no air con). Good luck with the business, excellent customer care - Land Rover take note.D3 gone for now

not wanting to p**s on anyone's parade....
as far as I remember 'A' level physics, dark colours absorb heat and light colours reflect heat.... so why would tinted windows or dark screens reduce heat gain?
Accepted that the majority of solar film is reflective and that any dark tint or screen will reduce the solar gain inside the vehicle but won't it also increase the ambient temperature by virtue of absorption (and dissipation of that energy once it reaches its thermal threshold) of the solar energy rather than reflection of it?

Hi 10 - I think the only official claim on these shades is that they help reduce UV - I have the shades too and whilst I agree with your science in principle, the shades do add a reflective quality to the windows in a similar way I guess to that of the backing on a mirror does - whether or not the shades will increase \ decrease heat values will have to wait until the summer I'm afraid - it's a bit nipply at the mo !!
I agree with HarrisonB that the shades are a great product though - excellent quality and price - you would be hard pushed to tell the difference from tinting from the outside.21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Don't get me wrong, i'm not knocking either the tints or the screens, they both look great, i'm just curious as to the benefit beyond the cosmetic one
Johnathon - hope you have suggested to your company that they make a marketing contribution to Martin's funds for the commercial plug of their product on the site

Hey Jonathan,
Can you send a close up shot of the clips to see how big/small they are.
Thx

Johnny Boy,
I’ve put some pictures of the clips in my gallery together with a before and after photo. I’ve not labelled the before or after as I didn’t want to insult Einstein and his theory on heat transfer.
Coffeecup,

Hopefully not a daft question.
If either of the little Coffeecups decide to pull the shade off, and then accidentally stand on it (as kids do), can individual screen replacements be purchased? Coffeecup
