Its supposed to shut down ..saving enough battery to start the car .I have had a faulty stereo and it was shutting down before it reached the required voltage (ie ..shutting down at say 12.6 volts instead of 21.1 volts ...cant remember the exact figure )

I know Wiggs does a lot off electric thing to his D3 but changing the whole D3 to 24 Volts looks like a crazy job to me. Rolling with laughter
