glass mount cb aerials

Hi all, just fixing up my disco for some greenlaning, and want to put my cb rig in. Was looking at maybe a mag mount but have seen a type of glass mount aerial similar to a mobile phone aerial. problem maybe the rear printed aerial on the rear glass. Does anyone have any experience of these types of aerial and are they any good?? cheers jez

On-Glass antennae are traditionally restricted to high-band VHF and UHF options. These whips are relatively short and stiff. The higher the frequency, the shorter the whip, and mobile phone frequencies are much higher than UHF so can have whips that would suit a hampster dominatrix! . By contrast, an effective CB antenna needs to be significantly longer (typically over 1m long) hence an on-glass mounting is a non-starter. They are glued onto the window and the glue simply couldn't cope with such a whip swinging about on it.
