Steve
Nothing wrong with living next door to someone called Robinson
(unless you are the b ds who live next to me who tried to get my planning permission overuled last year)
Honestly - the bins aren't that bad after you get used to fannying around with them

I was told if they don't have this symbol, they can't be recycled and should just be placed in the 'general rubbish' bin !

Steve's just annoyed because he needs to use stepladders to put anything in the wheelie bin.
Hi Steve. Up the blues!
cheers

Hi Steve I soo feel for your woes. You see we have just one bin its big and its grey when it gets full I go to the tip
Dawning realisation... I was wondering yesterday why the bin stores at my new *top secret* location had signs all over them saying no paper, cardboard, plastics, ... but there was nowhere else to put such items. It's because I have to find somewhere in my pokey flat to store them until I can drive them (in my 'gas-guzzling' 4x4, obviously) to the local recycling centre myself.
Something I forgot to mention earlier - before you sell 'your' bins on eBay or throw them away at the plastics centre.......
Did you know that they ALL have transponders fitted to them which will be registered to your address?
At present, they are dormant and can only be used to discover who is selling their bins on eBay. However, in future, they could be used to determine how much weight of rubbish you are getting collected and charge accordingly........... The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom

Rob G - cheeky b*stard
Ken - have had that smugness for a few years whilst adjacent local authorities played this game - all gone now
Rob (BCB) - they are right little hitlers in *secret location* my Sister-in-Law lives there so I know
JMC - first thing I did was check for the transponders - there is none - for those that don't know, under the front lip you'll find a circular cut out slot about inch and a half diameter - if its got something in it, lever it out and microwave it for 30 seconds and then put it back Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

We pay €150 a year and have;
1 x Black bin for general non recyclable stuff - costs €8.00 every time you put it out - collected once every 3 weeks
1 x Green bin for cans/ paper/ recyclable stuff - costs €4 every time you want to put it out - collected once every 3 weeks
1 x Brown bin for garden waste/ cooked & uncooked food - free to put out - collected once every 3 weeks
Now the Brown bin is interesting 'cos it stinks and brings in about a million flies to your back garden but in theory your other bins shouldnt stink
The material is collected and then brought to a local composting facility and turned into very cheap compost for your garden. Great idea and comes out as good quality stuff. Very progressive thinking by our loacal council but ..... they shut the facility down recently due to the CEC Now our stinky waste is driven up the country somewhere else! Enviromental benefit is questionable
The has fallen out of the market for recycleable mater so as Dom said, more and more ending up in landfill. A happy childhood ... is the worst possible preparation for life.
