JE Tune offer.

When browsing the JE website for another thread, I came accross their offer for a TDV6 stage 1 tune.

£297 + vat [£342 all incl].

If one plays it straight with your insurer (say Admiral or Direct Line) and declared it, how much would the insurance premium go up?
cheers

Rob, I've got a JE tune.
When I informed the insurers I went down the angle of 'more Torque for towing'
[rather than on the performance issue] but I did give them all the facts.
They didn't increase my premium.

I declared my Bell Autos remap with Direct Line Insurance and it only added £30-£40 for the year (can't remember the exact figure) which was a lot less than I expected. They have a table of fixed premium increases based on the percentage bhp (not interested in torque) increase.

I have my D3 insured with NFU.

Initial conversation they wanted to add a 20% surcharge for my just purchased remap, this seemed like a lot so I argued.

Very friendly lady at NFU went into battle with the underwriters for me and 2-3 calls later she told me they had agreed to add cover for £0, yup, nothing, zero.

I was EXTREMELY surprised and very happy!
Sometimes it just pays to complain.

By the way this was NFU Basingstoke, staff are very helpful.

Initially I tried NFU Hungerford and found them extremely UNHELPFUL in all matter Land Rover, tis was when I had my TD5.

My Policy is a ROAD policy only, but I can add a bolt on daily charge for PLAY DAYS. It works out cheaper for me to do this as mine as of NOW, has'nt yet played Big Cry . For MacLeod this is the best policy as I wont be doing this as much as some TBH.

Cheers Pom

I had a knock in SWMBOs MR2 about 3 years back, paid for all the damage myself but informed the insurance company like a good boy. They recorded it on my policy and hammer me even though I still have max NC.
Fed up with playing their games this year though so will start searching around soon, due to renew start of April... Thumbs Up

I went for the stage 1 tune offer today at J E Engineering, mainly due to the great offer price and the fact that they are less than 30 miles from me plus I was going that way today any how.

It took them about half an hour to do.

WoW what a different car it is now Very Happy . I've just dug out the Road-Angle and i'm charging it up now Whistle
