Lost keys of the removable tow bar

Hi,

I lost the keys of my removable tow bar, and the tow bar is on. I asked the dealer for a new set of keys, but they tell me they cannot get the keys only, I have to buy a new tow bar. Nice, they now how to make money, don't they? Evil or Very Mad Another flow in the land rover system! On the other side they tell me there are only 4/5 different set of keys for the removable tow bar and say they will try to find one of their customer with the same serial number to make copies. Of course, they never called in weeks, they are so good. Sad Anybody had this trouble? Do you think a lock smith could do me some new keys like he would do for a house door?

See you

and then what did you do? did you give one of these keys to your customer? if yes what will you do with the towpack you took the key from? or did your customer take the key to go make a copy of it?

good luck

we made a copy here, although we could not make a key that bends like the original so just like a normal key.

When on fieldwork in US I just had a car key (motels were mostly mag keys) so put it on a boot lace around my neck or attached it to my belt. Loosing the key half way up the Crescent Mountains in Washington would not have been, cougar country!!!

Keys in Removable Towbar

Hi all,

I had a different problem when I first got mine (Dec 04). After leaving the towbar and keys inplace (as recieved from dealer) for a couple of months, the key was very hard to move! Due to road salt etc I think. Mad . But managed to get it loose with plenty of WD 40 Razz . Now towbar lives in garage or back of D3 only going on when towing. (the key always stays in lock so I don't lose it Smile )
