When I bought my last car, I got nothing 'extra' on collection but wasn't worried because I had saved nearly 8 grand by buying a six month old demonstrator with 6k miles on it. 21% discount - better than a key ring or some mats I thought! The only way to tell it wasn't brand new was by looking at the mileometer!

Wiggs, just start firing email and brochure requests at Land Rover website. I did and got a free off road session in a Land Rover of my choice to take before the end November.

Penalty for this is now I get lots of junk mail from Land Rover, but it beats credit card applications any day!

Gareth,

Did what you said and low and behold ..an email from Land Rover today with an invatation to a half day on/off road experience .Great.

Just got to decide which one to go to (has to be used within 3 months).
The one in Yorkshire seems nearest ..but i don't mind travelling a bit further if any one can recomend a better one .

Thanks again for the info Gareth

Got nothing but explainations on the use of the vehicule. Sad I tried to negociate maps but no way: it is so expensive to give away 150€ maps for a customer who bought a car for 48000€! Such a shame! And now then do not even want to give me a descent price for my D3 for the buy of a new one. Evil or Very Mad Do they have too many customers at land rover that they push us to other brands? I am glad that at least I like the vehicule! What if I would also have been disappointed there? Big Cry
Once again, I have to say it is relly a shame! Ah yes, also, not even a small wash of the vehicule when I did my 50000kms service, you could even see that they were unhappy I had done offroad with the vehicule and that there was a bit of mud under the car! Isn't it an offroader I bought?
Did I made myself clear on what I think of my dealer?

I suppose this is moot, but I think that we do it a bit better here in the States. When I purchased my car I was treated royally. The staff was at my service with drinks and food, I was entertained in a lounge while I waited for the car to be cleaned, and best of all...I was offered a $5000 discount without even asking. I walked away with a fully loaded HSE for $50k (plus tax). My sales person still contacts me at least once a month just to make sure all is well.

All of this on top of a 4 year/50,000 mi. warranty and free maintenance?? Can't beat it if you ask me!

If only they offered the diesel!

My first LR was a 5 year old Range Rover Vouge. Bought from a dealer to provide warranty cover, it was very low mileage. Got to the dealers on a cold, dark, wet November night, I looked all round the lot in vain - no sight of it. Sad

Went inside to talk to the dealer, who asked if I'd seen the car. He then asked me to turn around, and there it was - right at the front of the showroom, all the new models moved out and my car sitting there in the spotlights! 8) Couldn't believe it. Very Happy (Thank you, Sandy R. (if you're reading this!))

I've had my last 5 cars from this dealer - and I don't even have to ask for free mats now!
