The wiper problem seems to be endemic with all the new LR. Having been highly irritated with the erratic behaviour of my wipers, I decided to to examine them in detail... seems the boffin who designed them forgot to put on a support frame on the back of the blade and that results in the tips of the blade chattering on the surface of the glass due to the lack of support.
I have tried washing the glass and the blades with strong detergent several times in order to remove road grime. This works for a while but does eventually revert back to the noise.
I have had several new blade sets fitted by LR (free of charge) but sadly they may go broke on replacemnt blades if they dont fix the problem soon.
That is the only problem I've had with the BEST vehicle on the road

For the money vs. the ball-ache of having to visit your dealer all the time I'd just get some Valeo UM665 blades. End of problem I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

The best invention known to mankind, forget landing on the moon this is better. The joy of silence this morning as I drove through the floods on the country lanes.
Actually the wipers were on all the time, but the D3 had a habit of creating a huge wave of water over the windscreen. Would mud flaps help as it can scare the out of you when you are driving at night and you hit a flood.

Flaps don't stop the 'wave'... and anyway I like it as it scares passengers. How about large perspex shields, the height of the windscreen fitted along the bonnet - similar to those at fairgrounds at the bottom of water splashes? 2020 SDV6 D5 HSE, Carpathian Grey +

ISTR that MTRs don't create this bonnet wave effect.

I wonder if that was me... they're just up the road from my office, and I mentioned to them how I heard about the wipers, and that they should suggest to other D3 owners that these were the ones for them...

Apparently Michelin do some retro blades with a magic coating (not flat blade - old shape, new coating) called All Seasons but the site AutoExpress quotes as the source are www.wiperblades.co.uk - they don't list the D3 (or D2 ) for ANY blade (and their sister company carbulbs.co.uk only do Osram bulbs )
I can find Michelin's US website (which tells me you can fit them yourself!!! ) and twengo.co.uk points me to eBay...
B r it - what was that Valeo part number again... 2006 D3 finally swapped for a 2016 D4 Graphite in Graphite grey. No mods

As some have reported good results with the new LR blades (Pt No: DKC500230) I tried to buy some of at my dealer yesterday.... He advised me that I would be wasting my money and that LR were 'still working on the problem'!
So I tried to part with £32.65, but he wouldn't take it... (Mind you I had just handed him best part of £3k but thats another story... Lets just say SWMBO won't be using Unleaded again...)
Anyhow, off to get some Valeos now - as I drove home from the dealer yesterday, it was raining, and the wiper judder just drives me round the bend!
Anyone know what the Valeo blade for the rear wiper is?
Cheers
D2K. (must upgrade username to D3K...) D1 Tdi200s done. D2 V8 ES done. D3 TDV6 HSE now
