I got 326 miles from a tank!

Almost 900 km (abt. 550 miles) from a tank...

Aussie drivers will appreciate that whilst on a trip following the Murray River in 2009 and driving in overcast to light rain I saw twice almost 900 km from a tank (one 890 and 872). Didn't do much other than drive it lightly (as if there was an egg under the accelerator!) and enjoy the countryside.

Later trips have never been as good (economy-wise) but then I was just relaxing and enjoying the supremely comfortable ride.

Average now since fitting the new engine (6 months and 19 500 km ago) is 12.5 l/100 and that includes towing a 2.5 tonne caravan (about 3 000 km and the balance mostly suburban driving. LeighW

The old girl is on her third engine...
* first ran a bearing (design failure in original engine)
* second had a failure of the water outlet on top of the engine (pls check yours)

500 miles on a full tank, 70mph with no air on or radio or anything for that matter gets me 38+ mpg
