Yeah I got stuck, hence the winching. Lots of people got stuck and had to be recovered but knowing that lot they'll only mention the D3s! Funny thing is they closed the section I got stuck in after me, a case of 'yep, it's definitely too difficult now' me thinks!
It was a great weekend, looking forward to next year The End

Winching is actually very tedious (especially with steel wire, can't wait to get the synthetic on there) but I'm very glad I've got it, it's very ressuring to know that self recovery is always an option and not to have to rely on someone else (not that you should venture off-road on your own) The End

Just had a look on the publicly accessible bit
Nice attitude from 'fellow' Discovery (1&2) owners...
HTF do they expect people to join DOC with coments like that as a taster

10forcash wrote:HTF do they expect people to join DOC with coments like that as a taster Not a good public image but TBH it doesn't bother me, the D3 is bigger and a lot heavier than D1/2 and it is going to struggle in places that they don't. There again a D3 will drive over terrain on tickover that older vehicles may not make at all even with a run up. If people can't be bothered to remove their blinkers and appreciate a vehicle for what it is it's not my problem, there are some great people in the DOC and I've made some good friends. As for the anti-D3 contingent, I'm not going to worry about them as I drive home smoothly in air conditioned comfort The End

Without giving to much away I had a drunken visitor (He said Greenpeace I thought t@$ser)on Friday eve woken up by the Jack going crazy at the front door. Needless to say I was told off for using excessive pervasive force. TF there was only the loaner on the driveway and he had a blunt tool!

Ken,
with phrases like 'drunken visitor' and 'blunt tool' are you sure he was trying to slash your tyres.... or slash on your tyres....
