Rear Ladder

Now I have my rack fitted I've been looking at the rear ladder from LR. But it seems a bit steep.170quid for 3 steps Shocked .
Does anyone fabricate an aftermarket version or have a REALLY cheap ladder for sale or 1 that I can borrow for my trip?

Thanks for all the help but the Finance Ministry have looked at my business plan and declined my offer of investment. Apparently a set of RRS alloys/MTR's,Expo rack in 1 month is enough for her Sad Big Cry Big Cry

I am looking for one of these too and £170+ is **** steep for 3 steps, and badly desinged steps at that.

The aftermarket one ( thanks for the link there countrywide ) looks a far better design.

But in the end. I think I may not go for a roof box or a ladder as I don't want to compremise on aerodymanics (if one can even say that for a LR) and for a long roadtrip high MPG is really quite essentail.

The one in picture linked from Countrywide's post is the LR one (despite saying it's the FR one)

The FR one looks like this

Seems to have the same 'badly desinged steps' to me Rolling Eyes

Price is good though

I wouldn't change anything, bit of grip tape on them and they're fine, but belial seems to think they're 'badly desinged' Confused

Even 94 + VAT is still a bit rich for me. It's not complicated a design to warrant that sort of price. Still searching the classifieds and breakers for a used example

I hadn't thought of Ray. But if his list of customers is as long as I think it is I'll be waiting a long time. But the product would be brilliant like his guard that I have just fitted.
Will drop him a PM to see what he has to say.

do you think oval tube may be better (with some tape) for standing on or is the room restrictive.

Possibly, square or triangular tube would be even better for a flatter, wider, step
For the amount I use mine it's not going to make much difference
