Teh OEM one is in the high level brake light housing.
There are sone gaps between the inside of the D3 and the hosing. If the antenna unit is small enough you may be able to put some mastic on it push it up against the underside of the housing. Idea
The housing won't interfere with the signal.
The plastic trim below it just pulls off.

Ok, so if the sat-nav antenna is in the high-level brake light, what else - other than the phone aerial - is in the fin on my 06MY HSE ?

As I don't use the built-in PTI kit (bluetooth works fine), I was thinking about hijacking the coax that the phone PTI kit used...........not sure what for, either speed camera thingy, or additional GPS/Sat-Nav - and putting the aerial for that inside the fin.

Thoughts ?

In the end I put it in the area above the sunroof controls. Works fine. First time it took it a few minutes to work out it could see the satellites, but now I seem to get a good amount (8 or 10) with enough strength to work.

I installed the Pogo Alert into the upper glovebox and although you can't really hear the voice, you can hear the beeps clearly (except with the stereo on full whack).

Got hideous interference though from the power pack and the radio was useless with it plugged in. Waiting for a replacement to come. However, thought I'd plug the usb sync lead into the USB socket on the ipod kit in the glove box and it powers it fine.

Added benefit is that it starts up the minute the car is unlocked and doesn't cut off when you start the engine. It therefore starts looking for the sats as soon as it is unlocked, so it is normally sorted out by the time I drive off.

Don't think I risk damaging anything by doing this, but not entirely sure. Makes for a neat install though. If I want to I can just pop it on the shelf above the glove box (if I want to use the KMPH speedo or something)
