Where to shove a GPS antenna

Got to fit a new speed camera gps widget to the car. Rather than have the gps bit stuck on top of the dashboard, wonder if it is possible to put it where the phone aerial is on the roof - is there room in the shark fin for something else and how do I get to it?

Also where can I pick up 12v behind the dashboard - without ripping the whole dash to bits?

Ta!

Fortunately not. I'm pretty good at not speeding (rapidly touching wood) and haven't been done for about 5 years now.

Just paranoid about cameras and specs. Have a Origin B2 which has packed up and was brilliant. Had it installed in the glove box. So just ordered a replacement and would like to tuck the aerial as far out of sight as I can. Should arrive tomorrow and I will experiment to see if it works above the sunroof controls.

I stuck my PC-based GPS receiver above the courtesy lamp cluster in the headlining.

This obviously needs a sensitive GPS receiver but in my case it works perfectly. Signal strength is diminished by about 20% compared to leaving it on the dash, but it still works perfectly and is completely invisible.

Cheers,
Paul

I saw yours before, and tried it with a roadpilot micro go antennae. Mixed results from it. I like the location though as it is nice and easy.

Both of my secondary gps devices are in the fin/bubble. Buggered if I know how they got there though. You'll have to email 10forcash.

ok, so it can be done then. Seems like obvious place to shove it.

Right, how do I get it off then.... next search I think.

I think the one thing that Iain told me was it was easier to do on his HSE than on my SE. It's quite fiddly on the lower spec models because of the headlining.
