Eeerrrrr..........I think you'll find that to be an affirmative
Take no notice of us ....most of our damage is caused by, let's say 'unconventional' locations for driving a £40k motor 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021
I put side strips on mine shortly after picking it up. I think they look good silver. They help a little, but I've found that most times if you park next to a car, it's doors would still hit the D3 bodywork anyway. However, what I do now is park with the suspension raised up. Then the side steps offer some protection too.Matt

I have the chrome centred body strips on mine - because its Buckingham Blue, a dark one. I think it looks MUCH better and it gives you a fighting chance in the car park - I'm pretty certain I'll do the side steps too - at least partially justified by their ability to stave off opening doors in car park.
So my recommendation is get them put on - and I think the cromed ones will work on Bonatti Grey

Go for the strips, £80 from ebay and a careful half hour with some masking tape and a (borrowed) hair dryer.

Oh yes, sidestrips look great on silver.
A little known fact is they also act as minor front mudflaps for road dirt - stopping it going all the way up the doors.
I like the idea of parking with the suspension up when in a car park - will adopt immediately - cheers Matt 2008.5 D3 HSE, Stornoway, Ebony

It also makes the D3 stand out in the crowded Tesco car park. It looks a beast towering over everything else!Matt

No! No! No!
If your D3 is silver do NOT put rubbing strips on! It makes them look rubbish. Really.
There's a very good reason the LR designers/stylists left the strips off the D3. It's to shorten the perception of length of the car between front and rear wheels. If you put big black lines down the doors it throws the car's carefully designed propertions out completely. Suddenly the car looks too long. I park my silver D3 in the far orner of every car park to avoid dinges.
If you have a black or dark coloured D3 then the impact much less marked, so I would put them on black cars, but never silver.
I'll calm down now.
I didn't realise I was so passionate about this minor issue. Sorry.

I have not got them fitted, and have so far avoided car park dings in the doors. Its remarkable because my car spends most of its time in golf club car parks which are notorious.
I always park on the end of a row where possible, leave a HUGE gap to the car next door. If the car park is tight in its spaces and I cannot get an end slot, I will unashamedly take two slots.
Not always the most popular person in the car park, but I have no dints

side strips
Go for side strips. I also raise the suspension in car parks and the side step is then more effective at keeping car doors off and away from the body work - especially from fat teenage girls from Romford whose father parks too close to your car ( whilst your sitting in it ) and the offending teenager desperate for her maccie dee decides to squeeze her mass bulk out by bending her door against your car.

I have had them on both of my D3 and no dents so far, I also like the way it looks with them on. I would say it's worth it.2010 D4 3.0 TDV6 HSE Zermatt Silver
