Spot light bulbs

Hi all, i have just fitted Osram Nightbreakers to my headlights last night, not tried yet as a nice bottle of red beckond Wink

i am looking to upgrade my spotlight bulbs as well they are the L/R ones is there any recomendations,i think the bulbs that are in will be 55w. could i go up to 100w in each without any problems like melting the lamps or damaging the wiring. The have been fitted at the dealer and have the switch on the dash.

Many thanks Thumbs Up

No amount of wattage will improve a poor reflector design......

But replacing the two LR ones would surely not be noticed......

I remember reading another thread in which a member wrote exactly that his spotlamps melted with the 100W bulbs....

You want to double-test it for us? Whistle

You are right as i also remember someone reporting that it melted their spots, in particular the reflector. I replaced my spot bulbs with the Osram nightbreakers and they were a little brighter but not that i would notice as i have the HSE with the posh lights. Well bright.

They melted with 130W bulbs.

Do you want to test 100W bulbs for us?

I had 110w bulbs in mine (until I replace them with LF240s last week). The reflectors never melted, but I was careful never to have them turned on when I wasn't moving.

They're just as rubbish with 110w bulbs in as they are with 55w bulbs. Get some LFs.
