Radio antenna -commercial spec |
|
Hello all , I have seen the information on the site on the radio reception being very poor on the commercial spec (especially the Irish version)and its the very same on mine and has a lot to do with the silly bonded in panel on the side windows. My question is where does the main antenna go from the windows to the radio. I was hoping to put a shark fin or something similar on the rear roof where the nav antenna would go, i could take the connection from the window and route it to the new areial ? Is this something that has been done before, do i need to take out the window panel to get it or could i splice the wire somewhere and run it that way.

Shirking from home today Bodsy? I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

LR do have a fix for this on the irish market which involves putting an aerial on the roof just past the top of the windscreen on the roof. Some people like it but I havent met them yet
I had asked for them to put it where the fin is on other models but having nodded their head in agreement they shoved it on the front regardless
As Bodsy said, Wiggs is probably your man on this type stuff - drop him a PM
