Now that the op has learned that his software and maps are up to date, and that his system should be set in the UK, I wonder if his problem is a simple post code entry error?
I recently kept entering a postcode that I knew was correct but not recognised. Wondering why, I realised it was a shorter code to most - one letter start, or only one number (can't remember which). I learned that in these postcodes, you need to introduce a space. It recognised it then!D4 XS new November 2013, RLD Spare protector, Bodsy bars

I upgraded my sat nav using the memory stick option
It was easy enough to do, time consuming and battery draining so you need to connect a charger, but the big problem for me was that I couldn't see any version numbers on the system either before or after the update, so I didn't have confidence that the update had actually worked
How would you know? Because the maps all looked the same to me?
I did send an email to the mapping company but they just couldn't understand what I was trying to explain

I now have my usb stick to update the maps, but for that I apparently need an activation code, and for that I need a product serial number!
Well I have input every number I can find that came with it but so far I have got nowhere.
Can anybody tell me where this product serial number is?

Cannot see any code on the email. The only other possibility is that it is on the invoice that was sent by email but unfortunately I cannot open it as it says it is corrupted!
Am I right in thinking that I am looking for a series of letters and numbers, but the letters only from A to F, as I am only given A to F as options on the screen.
I hav e emailed the company concerned but they only offer a 4 day possibility of answering, and I was hoping to upload it tonight as I am driving for a couple of hours.

It's a series of 8 characters, as you say.
Try this link. You'll need to log-in with the username and password you set up when you bought the update.

OK, so this thread is a little old, but here goes..
I have 2 vehicles (2014 D4, 2015 Disco Sport). The website seems to indicate that there is a 2017 map update and that the GEN 2.1 works for both vehicles.
Does anyone know if I can use the same USB and activation code for both vehicles or is it a once only code, in which case I will have to buy 2?
Many thanks.

I imagine it will be VIN locked, so your car will give you a code (or use VIN) and then the map provider gives you a code tied to that.
Else it would just be shared around everywhere... but would be good to know for sure!
