| Did a search but no answer found: TOMTOM and Radio |
|
I did a search here, but I did not found a suitable answer, so here I go:
Is it possible to connect a TomTom 910 to the radio, so you get the instructions and phone through the radio.
I don't mean the aux connector, got that one already
thx In a time of chimpanzees, I was a penguin.

My Parrot CK3300 talks and mutes through the radio. Leads from www.siocommunications.co.uk Should be something similar.

There is an accessory FM Transmitter Mount for the x10's which replaces the existing mount. You can set a frequency on the 910 and then then tune your radio into the mount and have all nav instructions, phone and Jukebox or iPod play over it. I have one and it works quite well, especially with an iPod Connected.
See the TomTom website here. Darren Griffin

Penguin,
You say that you have an Aux connection, what can you do with this ? I connnected mine at the week end via aux it's great if I only want to listen to "Jane" on my speakers but I'd prefer "Pink Floyd" with directional interuptions from "Jane" I guess this is what you're looking for ?
If so then you have the same goal as I but I'm :censored: if I can find a solution. Not sure about the FM mount as again surely it will only work if you listen to the radio ? and not a CD
Darren: any clues ?
PS: Had the local shop confused with my in car DVD that blocks the 910 signal, they did not believe me, I had to take them out to the car and demonstrate it. Got another one and.......... it's the same Mrs Jones ? We've come for your Liver

Nigel, if you can pipe your 910's audio into your radio via AUX then why not either use the Jukebox on the 910 or connect an iPod to the 910? The iPod interface is a very neat solution with all control done from the 910 screen. Darren Griffin

the 910 is a GO
The pinout of the 910 was there, but seems they had a crash
Once I have the pinout of the 910, I have the mute

Hi Penguin, I will be soon able to give you detailled information about exact that, what you're looking for: I've bought my D3 from a swiss LR dealer. They sold me 'officially' the TomTom (710) WITH the car connect set (the one TomTom cancelled end of March!).
They want to make me an offer that I can't decline
Apparently they have only a challenge to fix the nav to the D3. Functions like muting the radio, instructions and phone calls over radio loudspeakers, TMCs priority, etc still possible!
I'll keep you updatet!
Ciao

a big thanks !!!
I found a strange thing though about the tt
when connected to the aux, all is fine, but an incoming call stays at the tt speaker
For the moment the the mute etc is set on hold.
Right now I'm trying to convert the ttg to a full pda (it runs linux, so it should be possible ) In a time of chimpanzees, I was a penguin.

Hi folks, you won't believe it: My LR dealer was calling this morning just to say, that THERE IS NO SOLUTION
to our challenge...
They have contacted directly TomTom, the car connect kit is definitely eol (in my book: "never been born" for the '10 series!)! What piece of news...
No chance to crack it...
UNBOUNDED CHEEK!

Yes indeed, TomTom quietly shelved this accessory without it ever making it to sale which must make the one I have here brand new in its box rather rare! Darren Griffin
