Slimer, yes please to the fit next week, my tool kit is actually my cutlery set but don't tell the Mrs . So if anyone knows what tools are needed and have them to hand theres a pint on the bar . I'll try to locate some adhesive foam stuff for the ladder, any thoughts on where might have such a thing? Maxim mentioned some single sided adhesive which has confused me a bit. Is it single sided or double sided?
Look forward to meeting you all next week.
At the upper part of the ladder you need dual sided adhesive.
At the hand-grip part of the tailgate you will need a single sided adhesive (with a big hole in it for cable and mechanical pass thrue) that is located between the ladder and the upper tailgate.
I was not intending to confuse you.
grts,

Hey Maxim, thanks for the explaination mate. Makes sense now.
I spoke with the guy I'm buying from and he has one of the turrets missing and a couple of rubber grommets . He will speak with his local dealer and hopefully get the parts by the time I get there to collect or get them to post them direct to me .
As Discostu said, it wont hurt to bolt it to the rail only for a short time until the parts arrive.
I don't know if the single sided foam padding is still with the ladder but it seems reasonable to think it is. I will spend the weekend in search once I know whats needed.
The only question left unanswered is regarding suggestions as to where I could find the D/S adhesive foam for the top of the ladder???

Ok guys, I picked it up this afternoon and fitted it in minutes with the help of my Father in Law. It was looking a bit bedraggled as the previous owner had used gaffer tape to stop the top edge being scratched (or cover up exsisting ones) which was peeling up. But after removing it and using some turps to clean off the residue it'll come up a treat with a bit of help from the FIL.
Unfortunately the LH turret and fittings were missing and the seller hadn't had a reply back from LR regards the replacements. Can these parts be sourced if I'm let down?
The ladder has the top foam pad but its lost its sticky, and the lower seal as described by Maxim seems to be missing. Same question really, can these parts be sourced as I have no fittings at all for the ladder?
What I did get which was a surprise was a pair of roof rails!!!!
I'll bring them with me to the meet on tuesday to see if anyone needs them.
Maybe a small offer to be donated to the site?
Just a thought.

Don't know what's available as spares. Someone will though.
The rack is fine without the front posts, as long as you dont put any weight on the front of it - so it will be ok until you find a spare. I would have thought number plate pads would be ok - although the bottom one might provide a waterproof seal. Can't remember now I'll have a look later today. Try Nick at Yeovil - he's always very helpful (or so I've read!). Disco 5 HSE Lux

The roof rails have Slimers name on em. I have since noticed a slight difference in the plastic end caps to my own. I don't know if they are earlier models or something???

Well I just got a text from the seller to say he has contacted LR and they have found the missing turret. Result!
I have also found that there is a seal on the bottom of the ladder after all.
Picking up some satin black acrylic in the morning to give the rack a quick coat or two to tidy it up. Should be good as new by the time we're done, ladder fitted Tuesday (Wife not happy about ladder, thinks it'll look silly) and missing parts due during the week. I think it will look the dogs danglies when done.
Permagrin restored for another few days until I think of something else I need.

You'd think I was planning to take over the world, what with all these posts
But theres something else I need now.
The tie down loops which fit into the slots of the cross bars of the rack. I'm sure I've seen them for sale either in a magazine or on the web, any ideas as it's been driving me nuts trying to remember where?
Unless anyone has any that they don't want? I need five to sort me out.
