Hi Hightry,
As has been mentioned, whatever colour you go for it is your personal choice.
However, not sure what others will say but I recommend you get the wheel arches, door mirrors and front quarter bumpers sprayed the same colour. This seems to be a cheaper option than buying the already coloured add on bits. Cost me £300 for the lot. My black D3 and others I have seen the same looks superb.
In my opinion it transforms the silver D3's I have seen and would do the same for the blue.

How do you know that I have guns with which to defend my argument???!!!!!!! Formerly a Buckingham Blue V8 HSE, Side Steps, Privacy Glass, Lamp Guards, A-Frame Protection Bar with Driving Lamps and DVD
Formerly Buckingham Blue RR Vogue SE with all the bells and whistles
Some say that silver is the new white!! Aren't most police cars silver now??
As a bit of useless info. on why a lot of police cars are now silver... some brainy graduate entry into 'the service' realised that 'white' cars are sooooooooo 80's , and secondhand/resell value's are much higher for the more popular 'silver' cars!!! So it is a better deal for us tax payers!Est-ce que bonjour, vous aime ma nouvelle découverte brillante gentille trois, je pense qu'elle regarde les boules de chiens, pas vous ?

Colours, Colours, Colours
I am also finally about to order mine, decided on an the XS with Active diff (Salesman: "First time I have anyone order that!) so that means a factory order and I assume a 2008 model.
I found a good price through new car discount.com and just seeing if Hunters in Norwich can come close to it.
Only issue (with my wife) is the colour, her choice is down to Atacama Sand, and mine is Stornaway.
My wife or I have never seen a D3 in Atacama Sand and would be interested in anyone who has this colour. It could be a good choice and a break from the inevitable silver!Discovery 3 XS Auto, Stornaway, Active rear diff.

seen a 'Atacama Sand' close up, looks like baby poo.....
imagine that with an alpaca interior, it'd look like the whole car was made from recycled Montego dashboards

Agree with the comments concerning body coloured arches, my pursuit is very black, and ebony inside as well but I do have to say parked next to a silver D3 I much prefer the black, also on the matter of the ipod connection, after much searching I have found a "monster" cable which connects to the Aux, also 12volt and the connection is through the docking port at the base of the ipod (better sound apparantly) I am having this plumbed into the cup holder tomorrw, no cables on show, and a ready made ipod holder, should be the dogs!
Slight digression from topic but we will need more details on your iPod solution!!!
Pictures and cable number/source etc.
Please Life is what you make it.

the ipod is now installed, the cable is from ipod world it's called "xtremeMac road show car audio/video kit for ipod" and I have just used the power and audio inputs of the cable, and it works (to an extent!) if you ahve an older ipod, like I do It will play, but will not charge, the newer versions do charge as well!
also have had the parrot bluetooth installed and the Garmin sat nav into the centre cubby hole, very pleased witht he look and quality of install, for those of you in the uk I an Bannings in guildford do a great job.
