Protecting Bodywork

When we where carrying out the recce, Duncan mentioned that he had bought some blank magnetic sign material that is used on vehicles which he bought from eBay.

Managed to find some and bought a roll:

The idea is to cut the sheet to fit the various panels. So when off road damage to the vehicle will be minimised. Seems a good idea to me!

Will take a photo of the white paneled, black D3 when I have prepared it.

Regards

Chris

White panels also available with the letters "UN" in black and an optional blue beret of ineffectiveness......

Good idea Thumbs Up Some advice from my limited experience of magnetic signs...make sure the body and panels are very clean before application...the slightest fleck of grit could do more damage than your trying to protect it from and don't ever be tempted to move the panel whilst stuck on the motor Very Happy Let us have some photos when your all stuckered up Wink

There is a company already offering a custom magnetic covering solution for the D3...one of our members has it fitted but cannot for the life of me find the pics in the gallery Rolling Eyes

If its you Wink let us know how you get on with them.

Hi DG,

I had thought to make sure the car and magnetic sheet where clean and would then use this product:

Which you spray on and wipe off using a microfibre cloth. This is used as a dry cleaner and comes throughly recommended to spray on when you have washed the car and use what is called a waffle weave drying towel to dry the car with.

Regards
