My Steering wheel - recovered
Didn't have a leather bound steering wheel and didn't like the feel of the standard wheel, especially as I found it slippy to hold.
Bought a D4 style heated wheel before I did all the research and found it would cost me a fortune to get it operating!
But I used it in the meantime - as I decided just to have my original wheel sent away for a re-trim.
Got the wheel custom covered to my requirements:-
Added thumb grips.
Made 3mm thicker
Covered in smoooooooth black nappa leather
Perforated leather covering exactly where I wanted it.
Black stitching.
Absolute fantastic job, not cheap but cheaper than a new wheel [which is really what you get].
Now every time I handle it, it's just like stroking Megan Fox's naked body.

btw, thanks to Lucero for the lead. I was a normal heterosexual chap, but in these new woke awakenings I now identify as a Wardrobe.

Royal Steering Wheels in Aylesbury, contact is Jack.
Price for mine was £129 plus postage.
But it all depends on exactly what you want.
You can have coloured leathers and/or stitching.
As said, although it seems expensive, it's just like a new wheel.
Jack can also do you a wheel from stock, then when ready he sends you the re trimmed wheel and you send him yours..... deposits do apply though.I was a normal heterosexual chap, but in these new woke awakenings I now identify as a Wardrobe.

That looks great. I wonder if they can do the same treatment on a Defender wheel?

Gareth, they'll do anything you want on any type of wheel, doesn't matter what it comes from.
Though if they don't have the same Defender wheel in stock, you'd need to remove and send yours, wait until it's done and then sent back, approx 2 weeks.I was a normal heterosexual chap, but in these new woke awakenings I now identify as a Wardrobe.

I think that is a very reasonable price for the work involved.Freelander SE 2005 Auto.
