Nice pics DSL !
I have followed your comments and ordered the Pirelli ATR. In Belgium, they cost 789 euro's or 583 £, fully fitted on the car.

Fingers crossed they are as good or even beter than the GG AT2

You won't be disappointed. They don't have the well hard image of other tyre types but I don't fit things just because of looks. They do the job and do it exceptionally well. Thumbs Up

And I officially now have a following!! Mr. Green Mr. Green

That's been said before a good few times and proven wrong. They are a bit famine or feast supply wise, with 19"ers being mostly famine. Good old Pirelli, should stick to what they are good at. Calendars.

Had Pirelli Scorpion ATRs fitted for nearly two years now and completed around 30k in them, still have 5mm tread left on them. Good tyres.

However I am looking at a set of GG AT2's next

Berty83, don't go for the AT2. I've had them, and was not pleased. Before, I used the BF Goodrich AT and that was the best tyre I've had.

Did the same roadbook with the AT2 and I got stuck in places the BF kept on going. No more AT2 for me.

Did last week a roadbook on grass, gravel an light mud and the ATR did it very well.
In Belgium there is no problem with the supply, mayby you have to order outside the UK ?

Greetz,

Stefaan

You'll be shocked by how "agricultural" the AT2's will feel on the road in comparison to the ATR's.

The Pirelli UK website still lists the ATR in 255-55-19 and 255-60-18 sizes. Thumbs Up

As DSL posted above, we've had the " Pirelli don't sell 'em anymore mate" discussions numerous times in the past.

The fact that they are now LR branded, should help, but sadly as always they seem to be produced in batches. These sell fast and then prices rise as supply dwindles, until a fresh batch arrives again and the cycle continues.

Annoyed Censored

Just put a full set of GG AT2s on my bus last month and now ive picked up a stray nail through my offside rear that cant be repaired.

Luckily a local garage can get one in tomorrow & fitted for £123.

I have also picked up one of those pesky nails in one of my GG ATs. I've been very happy with them on mud and tracks so have arranged for a local independent to fit new ones for an excellent price of £108 a corner and will keep what can be salvaged as spares. Thumbs Up

I would have seriously considered the Pirelli ATRs but it seems they've been withdrawn in favour of the Zeros. If that's true it's a massive shame with such a good rep. Sad

Yep thats what they will tell you, they will repair the removed old tyre and flog it on ebay.
Most tyres can be repaired even run flats, I know Ive done a few.

I'm glad to say my local guys will repair if possible at a good price and are totally straight up with me. I wouldn't be surprised if some get up to that sort of thing though.

The work gets done right in front of you and he'll gladly show the problems and discuss there and then. You don't get that from the big chains, let alone flexibility like fitting your old spares rather than insisting they can only fit new ones.

We regularly get the rubbish from peeps "in the know" that they have stopped making them, been hearing that for years and years and years. Utter balldocks. Not helped by Pirelli not making enough but like the number 34 bus, they'll be along sometime. Thumbs Up
