chaps

I've had 275/45x20's on the RRS Vspoke 20s, and there is only about 8, maybe 10mm clearence from the inside sidewall to the suspension upright, so I'm fairly convinced 295's on genuine LR RRS V Spokes are a no go.

I think RonP's stormers are copies (no offence RonP), and have slightly more offset, so the 295's are OK.

It may be genuine LR Stomers are OK, I just dont know anybody with them on a D3 with 295's on them.

From a visual standpoint, I think my 20" RRS's with 275/45's look smaller in the wheelarch than my 19" RRS with 255/55's on. (pics of both in my gallery), so gone back to the 19's (till I get bored and try some 22's maybe Laughing )

Ronp....I was a little worried the 295's would be a little too big. Can you notice much difference through the steering with these? Would be great to see a picture of your car with em on Very Happy

This is a picture of my wheel with the Grabber 295/45/20 Tyre.
there are other pics in my gallery, but mainly show the Conti 295/40/20 tyres.
[In fact that reminds me I need to load the pics CY took at Tong] edit - just loaded
No problems at all on steering.
For wheel/tyre info, Al Cope is your man. edit - just seen Al's posted above

Ron - Your gallery pics look great, and they fill the arches really well, which the 275/45x20's just didnt seem to do (well not to my eye anyway. I was quite disappointed, as I thought the V Spokes would have looked good - shows how wrong you can be). I've flogged my 20's and put the 19's back on. But (if the missus's isnt looking), some more 20's might be on their way.

thanks Al
If SI1 is after 22s, check if he'll sell his Stormers.
Personally I think 22's are too big and disproportianate to the D3.
Especially as the tyres only have the profile of a rubber band [no offence SI1].

Shouldn't do, as the rims get bigger the tyre sidewalls get smaller if you do it right so the overall diameter stays the same

I'd say the 20's are the best 'overall' looking - not too big to look OTT, but not too small to look unproportionate. They fill just the right space.

Maybe down to the tyre make too, not all 295's will actually be 295mm wide....
 Cheers

Just remember that the bigger the rim diameter the more damage can be atchieved to the wheel by simply using your D3 like any other landrover and climbing kerbs and general being the biggest and best.

Cool Finally got my wheels and tyres that i wanted and a very good deal i had. Swapped existing 19" rims and tyres to tyre shop who wanted them for another customer fed up with replacing 20" rims after wife hitting curbs. Total cost of new tyres [AT2s] exchanged for as above. Purchased new 18" rims from ebay and just waiting for proceeds of unwanted 18" tyres from tyre shop, the tyres that came with the 18" rims. I hope to have only spent about £300-00 on complete deal , about the same cost of 2x new 19" tyres that i would have needed had i kept the original wheels.
