Another choice is the K9 rack and ladder from Dolium.

Hi
The Front Runner SLII rack with the vehicle specific Foot Rail is designed to use the existing factory mounting points on the Land Rover Discovery LR3 & LR4.
The distance at the rear of the vehicle between the underside of the rack and top of the roof is 70mm (120mm from top of the roof to the top of the rack)
With the Full Length rack the distance at the front of the vehicle between the underside of the rack and top of the roof is 120mm (170mm from the top of the roof to the top of the rack)
We do have 2 versions, a Full length rack of 2166mmL x 2155mmW as well as a 3/4 rack of 1560mmL x 1255mmW.
Hope this helps

Here's a picture of mine.

Bernard, it appears to be about an inch or so further back than yours, as yours appears to be level with the window/chassis split.

There was a change toward the end of 2014 due to the newer LR4 with the higher DAB antennae.
The rack height was increased and brought slightly forward to accommodate this change from Land Rover

Yes I have the new design Front Runner roof rack. You probably remember I had the LR roof rack, but I never liked the way the roof tent bolted to the rack, and there was a lack of space for other accessories. This past year I did a project in Johannesburg, and realised that Front Runner was only 4 minutes’ drive from my office. After seeing their very nice showroom, I bought a roof rack and every conceivable accessory. Over the period of my project, I hand carried them back with me, thereby saving me quite a lot. The only thing I couldn’t hand carry was the long range fuel tank.

I'd liked to have seen you carrying your roof rack hand luggage Have the new ones to be set as far back as yours John? It sounds as if it has, with them saying the Land Rover ladder won't work.Mantec sump guard.
Prospeed tree slider/steps.
Flack duel battery system.
18"Compomotive/AT3 tyres
Brembo 4pot front brakes
Thanks all.
@eddyoz
Although the K9 looks promising as well, guess it's a pain to get it in Europe. Me personally, I don't like the look of the ladder itself .. but then again, that's at the back of the car
@front runner
thanks for the detailed information
surprised to see the space at the front of the rack is not that much of a difference with the windcheetah .. good though
I wonder I'd be able to fit lance 170s the same way I did on the D3. I can't seem to find the mounting plates anymore that were perfect on the windcheetah.
@John P
that picture really explains the bumping
@A.J.M
no worries, you could try u/l on this site though ..
@biskit
he might have large arms D4
Disco4.com sticker
D3 11y, 425k km - sold, miss it though (MAR, DNK, NOR, SWE, SCO, WAL, MUD ...)
