@ Red Merle. Don't get me wrong : the D3 will stay along the F-Type. Ther just isn't a proper replacement for it. Yes : I start to think laterally.
A Tiguan 1.4 petrol with 130HP and the same drivetrain setup as a DS [ haldex] , kosts around 60% of a comparable DS. 8)

the price is quite an influence 4years ago a loaded HSE £56k now £71K I bought both Nearly £4k a year increase and disco 4 prices are dropping like a lead ballon.
Customers are cautious, all sales are down the Velar hit the market June must have had an effect.

I was looking at 16/66 plate D4 Landmark prices the other day and thinking how well they were holding up. 2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE
2010 D4 HSE (A bit bling)-GONE
2014 D4 HSE (Almost too bling)-GONE
2015 D4 HSE (A heated what?)-GONE

I think this article nails the problem with the D5, it was designed for Posh Spice instead of Old Spice 
It's to feminine and not blokey enough

The good thing about that article is that it is trying to analyse the problem rather than ignoring it as the British motoring press seem to do.
The LR comment about size seems the wrong way round. With the new car they seem to pulled off the amazing stat of making it bigger outside but smaller inside. 2014MY Discovery

Aren't you the guy who spent all last year using all our time trying to talk up the D5? And then you are so happy with it, you dumped it for a Velar?
Most of us, were smart enough to let the market evaluate the D5 first and the feedback is in, its a Turkey.
The D5 needs some balls, it's just a sissy wagon for inner city Climate change believers.
I can't find any articles about how the D5 is smashing sales records?

Here, when styling is a complete dud, we'd say that “it divides opinion” or, worst of all, “it’ll grow on you/us/me” (like it’s somehow us that are falling short!  ). Honestly? It all sounds like something from Colin Firth’s character in Kingsman!
What Land Rover seem to be in dire need of, if and when they do drop the ball, is some robust feedback; we need to learn to feel more comfortable about using phrases like “it’s a turkey” or “the D5 needs some balls”! 2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2

Ive got a Rolex but wouldn’t have a D5, the D4 is great and probably the last of the true land rovers, although the Ffrr and rr sport are still pretty good but way out of my price range.
So I’ll keep the d4 for a good few years, it was encouraging to see the mileage highs again this morning, just hope it doesn’t need s new engine before the rest of it wears out, but even that would probably be better and more cost effective than a new one.
