Dompip,
Pleased I could help and it has resolved your problem, and at no cost.....
Now you really will find out how nice these vehicles are to drive (especially if you ever towed 3.5 tonne with a disco 2 td5). Mine still makes me smile every time, even after 4 months....
The comments others have left are truly hysterical. I replied to your post while my daughter was swimming, and then explained to SWMBO the nice gesture I had done, to then read all the posts to her........ she is still wetting herself.

My first D3 was a manual and I did a similar trick. Went to overtake a van & couldn't understand why it wouldn't go faster than 40mph, it turned out I was still in 2nd gear and it was on the rev limiter. I couldn't tell from the engine noise that it was revving so much, I thought I was in 3rd or 4th .

If only the OP mentioned sitting on the rev limiter at the same time lol. Classic. He’ll be comparatively disappointed by the take of at the lights now though.
