Rear Screen Entertainment - Remote control
I have just taken receipt of a 66 plate Landmark from a main LR dealer.
It was supplied to me with the two cordless headphones for the rear seat TV screens.
We were having some trouble setting up the RSE so I asked the dealer if he had the remote control.
He said that the remote was an 'option' on initial purchase and mine didn't have one.
(I noted this on my earlier thread "New Car Time...")
I can't find a way of controlling the screens from the back seats as they don't appear to be touchscreen (??)
So my question is can the rear screens be controlled without a remote or should the remote control unit have been supplied 'as standard' with RSE equipped vehicles??????
Washwipe and LT have indicated (on the earlier thread) that they should have been standard2000 D2 TD5 - big red tractor no longer with us

Yes, the remote is standard and it’s the only way of controlling it from the back, but you’ll probably cock up all of the settings for the driver and front passenger!
There’s nothing that’s user friendly or intuitive about the system!2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2

Have you checked the secret storage space under the fridge. Access from the middle row at the bottom is a drawer with 2 cup holders and the remote usually.
You can control the rears from the front but only for limited things like tv and a DVD. USBs in the rear location will only play from the remote.

The dealer is taking the ! The remote is Standard with the RSE and should be there. They changed the remote from MY14, so the remote you're looking for won't fit in the middle row cup holder drawer any more.D4 MY14 XXV - RLD/IID BT

But in the rear right hand (offside) storage bin there is a space which seems purpose built for the remote!!! .

Dealer hadn't responded to my email telling him 'I think' the Remote was actually standard issue with RSE
Today I called LR customer Services who informed me that it WAS part of the standard build sheet for a 66 plate Landmark (backing up the learned opinions of the wise members on here )
Phoned the dealer today who informed me he was trying everything he could to contact the previous owner to see if they still had the remote. If she did have it then they would get it to me.
It seems they thought that if she DIDN'T have it then I'd be OK with that and say, "oh well, at least you tried fellas...."

I nearly had the same issue (couldn't find it and neither could the dealer), they contacted the previous owner to no avail so got me a new one.
Then after going on here checked the cup storage and found it. So now I have 2

Agreed where it is, just never seen it with a holder for a remote. Unless it’s changed since D3 days. Will also look tomorrow.

Do some have a storage draw in place of the cup holders? - no room in the rear of the console for both
