Switched D3 TDV6 to D4 SDV6 after 13 years
So after 13 years with a 2005 D3 TDV6 HSE, we have moved on to a 2012 D4 SDV6, after considering a D5, Skodia Kodiaq; Volvo XC 90, Q7 etc along the way. None of these offerings have as much space as D3/D4 as we have 3 junior Giraffes as teenagers. So onto the SDV6 HSE I am very impressed by the extra speed of the twin vs single turbo (alas my wife will alas get more speeding fines), the quality of the leather interior and the 825w Stereo.
My further thoughts are 1) I would love an ALIVE tune do they have an agent in Europe or do I send you the ECU 2) It has a full size 19inch spare wheel, how much weight would I save with the compact one ?
Further feed back very welcome from others who made this switch much earlier !!!!

That’s an excellent choice (if an easy one!).
A spacesaver wheel really is such a horrible thing and would make so little difference in weight I couldn’t imagine it ever making up for the inconvenience of not having a proper spare, especially if you are planning on towing, going off road or any reasonable distances.2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2

It's more of a profitmarginesaver than spacesaver.
but it does need an Uncle Ray protector if you've not already got one..

Why?- who in their right mind will pinch a space saver, when it's just as easy to pinch a full size that's worth more and easy to move on.
Might as well get hung for pinching a sheep as a lamb It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

They might just snip the cable for the hell of it, considering they'd gotten their worthless ars.e under the car for nothing.

Space savers - horrible things - the one option I wished I'd ticked when I ordered mine many moons ago
Ended up buying a second hand wheel from a forum member and putting the least worn tyre on it when I got new ones last year. (and an RLD theft preventer)
I couldn't even give my space saver away on the forum last year - ending up taking it to the tip

Isn’t the space saver not a weight saver. I’d have thought being steel it would be heavier.D4 MY15 SE TECH
