Manufacturer approved or not |

Looking at getting a disco 4 hopefully in the next month or so and was wondering is it worth paying a premium and buying from a Land Rover dealer to get the 2 year warranty or buying from a private or not Land Rover dealer and getting it for less, I only do around 6,000 miles a year if this helps
Thanks

Look at all options, there’s good and bad to be had both inside and outside the franchised dealer network.
The 2 year warranty is nice to have, but it’s not perfect (you’ll have to get your car serviced at a franchised dealer, wear and tear is excluded, as is the crankshaft, while I believer diagnostic time may be excluded too), although they do a nice 30 day exchange scheme if it all goes pear shaped.
It should be too difficult to get a 2 year, or longer, warranty from a quality independent and your money is likely to go further as the dealers usually charge all the money! 2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2
2015 - 2017: 2 x D4
2017 to date: FFRR SDV8
2023 to date: FL2 as a second car

Do you still have the FL2?
I moved from FL2’s to my first D4 in 2015 and while the FL2 is a great car, the D4 is in another league! You’ll wonder why you waited! 2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2

I bought from main dealer but I personally wouldn't bother again.

Not strictly true, they cannot insist on the dealer doing the servicing to maintain a warranty, it must be done to their specs using genuine parts. If the worst did happen and you were servicing outside of the dealer network and you were looking for goodwill, it probably wouldn’t happen Joined the BMWX5 45e group
