Suspension issue: Normal Height Only
Hi All, another suspension issue!! When ever i start the car it bongs and throws up a suspension fault. It says "NORMAL HEIGHT ONLY" I have an IID reader and the code is C1A09-1C (AF) Pressure sensor signal -General electrical failure - circuit voltage out of range.
I have a new compressor fitted last year, I have checked compressor power leads and connectors they are ok.
I'm not wanting to spend £70 on a sensor to find its something simple else where, Any ideas?
thanks in advance.

Hi gstuart.
Just repaired my suspension problem. You were completely right. Yellow wire corroded. Simple cable repair and all sorted. Thank you again.Rear privacy glass,Updated sat nav,3 flash,Chrome tubes4x4 info,

Hi all, I think I'm hitting a similar problem - at least the error code is the same (C1A09 - pressure sensor signal) and the same 'normal height only' message on t'dash.
The link is great - but (newbie question here)... how do I see and get to the connector in the N/S/F wing? Is it wheel off, hire a small person or somethign easier?
Thanks!

Hi
Indeed u need to remove the plastic inner wheel arch liner and wheel , to gain access to the 3 x connectors, enclosed some pictures for u , ur also have to remove the passenger side headlight as ur see a torx bolt , also remove the wheel arch, put a link as well for some clips as they break easily
with the ign on , u should get 5Vdc on pin 2 of the reservoir connector
Have also enclosed some wiring diagrams for u , also a link for some new plastic inner wheel arch liner fixings , some will undoubtfully break
If u don’t get 5Vdc at the pressure sensor ur need to then pull apart those connectors , checking all the pins and wires , then use some electrical contact spray , with the connectors still apart , ign on , check if u have the 5 Vdc on the upper loom , pin 4 , yellow / black , if u have u know it’s then from the other connector to the pressure sensor
Personally before jacking the disco up, I raise the suspension to off road height , crack the wheel nuts , jack the landy up so u can get an axle stand underneath , lower onto axle stand , then remove wheel nuts and wheel

Well - the car went in for a 'B' service last week (yes - ALL week) and I asked them to investigate. Turns out there was more than one cable which had corroded and fractured further up within the cable sheath, so this has now been rectified.
Although I didn't end up doing the work, it's really nice to know what's going on.
And I now have a new set of belts and a new pump - so I'm feeling slightly less at risk.
I said slightly

Resurrecting this thread rather than creating a new one...
On Friday, I my '05 D3 started to give me the "normal height only" message on the dash and the C1A09-1C (AF) Pressure sensor signal - General electrical failure - circuit voltage out of range error.
GAP IID shows that the Pressure sensor supply voltage is 4.95v, which I believe is as it should be.
I've taken the front n/s wheel and liner off to access the wire that is the usual suspect and find that it has been fixed before - with a new blue wire taken off and leading forward before joining the NSF suspension air line and disappearing under the radiator.
What I am struggling with is where does the yellow and black wire normally go? The wiring diagram above suggests that it leads to the pressure sensor on the reservoir, but the replacement blue wire on mine is heading away from the reservoir.
Also, with the GAP Tool identifying 5v supply to the sensor, can I conclude that the wiring to the sensor is OK and therefore I should be looking at the pressure sensor itself?
