D4 cambelts
My friend has just bought a nice 12 plate D4 from a dealer. It has done 70k miles.
As a D3 person, I said to her have the belts been done being 7 years old.
She said that the dealer told her that the age limit on belts do not apply on D4’s.
Is this true, if not can you point me to a printable page that I can show her and the dealer.

According to the service schedules in the Wiki section, the 7 year timex limit on the belts applies to model 2012 yr onwards. The schedule for MY 2010 and 2011, doesn’t indicate a time, just mileage.
I had thought it applied to all D3 and D4 models. I suggest you go to a dealer and ask to see a copy of the latest schedule.

Many thanks Guys, I have printed off the schedule and will give to her tomorrow. She was under the impression that if the belts failed, her warranty would pick up the tab.....obviously wrong, they would run a mile if you hadn't kept up the service schedule items.
She just wouldn't believe me because the dealer was such a charmer..........women eh 1955 SWB Series 1 86 inch

Make sure they change both belts, not just the cam belt

This post has sewn a seed of Doubt in my mind about my own D4.
I had been presuming the next service which will be time based in June, rather than mileage, will be the biggy with cam belts.
The car is 2013 (March) and the last service was shown as 96k service on the main dealer invoice.
In June the car will be 6 years old, and will be on about 104k miles at the current rate.
Will it be due belts?

Officially, no. While this will be its 7th service, the belts are not due until March 2020 or 112k miles, whatever occurs first
In this instance, I advise any customers that belts are due in xx months or xxxx miles. Either do them with this service or rebook for when it hits age/mileage limit My D3 Build Thread
