list of things wrong with my LR3 |
|
Hi
I'm looking for advice on suggested remedies for the following issues for my 2006 LR3
I have no info messages and the MIL is off.
1) heated screen doesnt work.
There are stone chips/small crack across the screen so it needs replacing anyway - but how specialised is the replacement of the heated screen? (I live in canada so have iced up widows every day in winter - definitely want to have it replaced rather than going for a cheaper unheated screen.)
the 2 fuses look good
Is this a dealer/specialist job, or can I order the screen fitting through an Indy garage?
2) Cant put car in access height
I can switch between normal height and offroad, but when I try to drop down to access height, I get a beep followed by "vehicle in extended mode" and it lifts back up again automatically
3) the car randomly beeps when driving on the highway with no notice on the dash. I can see it beeps when detecting the temp has dropped to about 4oC or less as the little snowflake icon flashes - but I cant tell what the other single beep is for - I'm wondering if its PDC as I know the rears dont work.
Are the rear PDC sensors easy to replace or diagnose which one is faulty?

you may have codes even though the light is off, you need to check.

1) anyone should be able to replace the screen.
There electric cable riibbons connect on the inside.
2) suspension probably requires calibration. An IID would do this.
If that doesn't sort it. It could be the suspension exhaust valve restricted

No longer staying in Toronto, other wise you could use my SDD checking codes.
Heated windshield itself is kind of a CAD1000 thing even for a Chinese one in Canada. Installing is not special at all. The diagram is quite straight forward, really easy to trouble shoot if you definitely have an issue.
Access mode, it could be closed by worn out suspension bushings, but calibrate your height sensor first.

You can test rear pdc sensors by getting someone to turn car on.. Put in reverse with foot on brake (very important!) whilst you go around to rear and listen carefully with your ear to each sensor... If its working you will hear a repetitive clicking.. If not then you know which one is duff 👍
