Also petrol CO2 emissions, at least mine, are 354 g/km and not 495 as they claim.

Well when I bought mine, certain forum members who love themselves big time were making derogarotary remarks that now the D3 is the in the 10k bracket the world was coming to an end and here we are 4 years later talking of 3k
At this rate I will soon be able to afford a D4

Most threads seem to be more focussed on D3's?
Saw an absolutely immaculate 05 plate SE the other day, absolutely standard, looked like it had never been sat in, not a mark on the body - God knows how the owner(s) maintained it that well after 13 years.
I must admit, I think I preferred my D3 to the 4, probably because it was my first LR / 4x4 etc. even though I kept the D4 for nearly 9 years. Now Golf GTI PP, 7 speed DSG.
Ex D3 and D4

"As a general rule, don't go for a Discovery 3 if you're frightened by warning lights or other failure indications coming up on your info screen, because you will be seeing a fair few of them."
Spot on 05 V8 HSE Bonatti Grey

Age is going to play a large part in the number of D3 threads.

After reading that I'm going to stay well clear of a D3 The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything;
They just make the best of everything they have.

Think I've got to agree with you there Adam, the D3 shape was new then and I think even today it still stands the test of time .... a cracking looking motor (as too is the D4). I was a normal heterosexual chap, but in these new woke awakenings I now identify as a Wardrobe.

I think both the D3 and 4 have stood the test of time in the design stakes.
Which makes it even more incredible the D5 turned out to be a bit of an ugly duckling Discovery 4 HSE

Sorry to barge in, but I just wanted to make a comment about how unpopular the D5 design is.
I can distinctly remember similar comments about the d3 and d4 when they came out. People used to compare them to a Ford transit.
It seems we get "used" to them and then take to them more.
