How do they make a profit on that considering how long it takes to set up. And our cars are notorious for having seized adjustment bolts. That’s got to be a a one off garage and a keeper. Unfortunately it’s still cheaper to have mine done here than travel down there.012MY RRS 5.0 Supercharged Autobiography (Current)

I assume they just rely on volume. It's a massive place.
They have four units in total. Here is a picture of two of the units...
Great prices, super clean, TVs in the waiting rooms with sofas and free coffee to top it off.
They also road test all vehicles after they have performed adjustments to make sure they are happy to let them go.
I'll be using them for all my tyres and alignment work going forward.
All of their balancing machines are also Hunter. Not road-force though.Kev

That place is a keeper, just hope they are charging enough to stay in business.012MY RRS 5.0 Supercharged Autobiography (Current)

I went through various forums and it looks like the majority of places have pricing all over the place but it appears the norm is to charge a fee for the check, anything between £30 to £80 and then a fee of £18 per adjustment as required. I wonder if the cheaper places are cheap in an effort to build a customer base for tyres and further repairs. A bit like doing free puncture repair as a good will gesture in the hope you come back for you’re next set of tyres.012MY RRS 5.0 Supercharged Autobiography (Current)

It very well could be. I know that if you buy tyres from them, they will do the check for free and then obviously you pay for the adjustment. It's a good upsell.Kev

4 wheel alignment cost
Going rate in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk is £48 inc vat. You get a printed report and an explanation from the mechanic who in my case had made an adjustment. Sounds about right to me.

Not when i had mine done.
Seem to remember it cost me about £80 with a number of adjustments after the lower front arms were replaced.Discovery 4 HSE SDV6

Don’t forget they are quoting £294 if everything needed adjustment. So if it needs 14 adjustments and they charge £18 per adjustment then that’s £252 straight off. If it only needed one adjustment then you may only be looking at £60. I wouldn’t be surprised if the garages that charge less (and a good value) rely on repeat custom and that nothing is seized. Unfortunately there’s no garage like that near me and it would likely cost me more to travel to such a garage. My local Hunter garage charges a check fee followed by a fee per adjustment but I’ve been lucky and not needed many adjustments to date (and when it did the first time, I wasn’t charged).
Perhaps the OP should ask how much the check would be on its own.012MY RRS 5.0 Supercharged Autobiography (Current)

Had mine done at a local 4X4 specialist with the Hunter kit after a full replacement of the rear suspension last year. All the suspension bolts etc. and links were brand new and I put the suspension in "Tight Tolerance Mode" before taking it in.
Gave me a Before & After print out and charged me £50 incl. VAT and that included adjustment in all four corners.Relocated to Mid France from N. Wales March 2021

Apologies if I am hijacking the thread a little...
Does any one in the NE of England have a good experience and can recommend someone who can do a good job on a D4 please?
Yes I have looked at the align my car.com, but has anyone any real experience please.?
TIA

Just had mine done after rear upper replacement, and got charged £85 for full alignment with changes on all wheels, was really great and smooth/quiet after alignment. Hunter centre in Huddersfield found through align website years ago. ATEC-Align is the company and owner is fantastic, good eye for detail and did lots of checks to make sure he got it just right.RLD CB Bracket
